Berry Bliss Balls - homemade, healthy, superfood snacks

Home made Bliss Balls are so much fun to make, are super healthy and a beautiful way to give a gift of health and love

I am Amanda Parker from Mayella Organics and Probioskin. While I make beautiful body care products and blend superfoods, I love foods that feed the soul and right now, that is more important than ever. This is my personal favourite recipe for Berry Bliss Choc Nut Balls using Acai Berry that I am making as Easter Eggs for my family.

Bliss Choc Nut Balls Ingredients

  • 1 cup dates. Make sure they are pitted. Any dates are fine to use, Medjool Dates are amazing
  • 2 cups rolled raw oats
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon Mayella Acai Berry Beautiful Blend
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter or 1/2 cup of raw peanuts or you can choose to use almonds if you prefer. If you can find bio activated nuts they are usually more crunchy and their valuable nutrients are more easily digestible.

Bliss Choc Nut Balls Method

Place dates in a bowl of filtered water, with water just covering the dates and let soak for an hour - 2 hours.

Drain the dates and put the liquid into a container and set aside.

Place drained dates, dessicated coconut, peanut butter (or nuts), oats, Mayella Acai Berry and cacao in a food processor. Blend into a paste. Don’t worry about making it too perfect as it clumps a little.

Add roughly 1/4 of the date liquid to the mix and process until mixed well (you may need a little more liquid than this, add it slowly until the mix holds its shape. If you accidentally add too much liquid add a little more of the other dry ingredients to balance)

Roll mixture into 12 - 14 balls and eat. Or store in the fridge in an airtight container. For fun as its Easter, instead of balls try making egg shapes!

Bliss Choc Nut Balls Tips

Tip1 - Roll in a blend of a little extra desiccated coconut and teaspoon of Mayella Acai Berry Beautiful if desired. This adds a little extra Berry flavour & antioxidant boost which we can all benefit from in these times.

Tip 2 - Make extra and freeze them!!

Tip 3 - You can add a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil if you want a little extra moistness and the goodness of healthy fats.

Tip 4 -  We often make two batches, one with our Acai Berry Beautiful Blend and one batch of Green Protein Balls. Adding 1 tablespoon of our Green Harmony Blend ( with Kakadu plum ) to replace the Acai Blend. In our Green Protein Balls we also add a tablespoon of chia seeds to the date soak for a little extra crunch. Blend and roll as usual in the dessicated coconut.
