ACT Wildlife

ACT Wildlife is Canberra's wildlife care group. The purpose of ACT Wildlife is to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured, sick and orphaned native wildlife. ACT educates the public about sharing the urban interface with native wildlife, and provides professional training to ensure a high standard of welfare for animals in care.

Cedar Creek Wombat Rescue

Cedar Creek Wombat Rescue and Wildlife Refuge is dedicated to rescuing not just orphaned joey wombats but also sub-adults and adults that are in need of medical care whether it be from accident, injury or mange. Along with wombats, they care for many native animals with the focus being on animals that are in need of more than routine care to get them to the point of release. Roz, who was born and bred into wildlife and is also a trained vet nurse, takes on animals with illness or injuries that may have otherwise been euthanized.

Through various generous support and dedication of Sophie Brenton & their volunteer vet Robin Crisman, Cedar Creek Wombat Rescue now runs Australia’s only dedicated Wombat Hospital.

Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary

Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary, where native Tasmanian fauna and flora thrive. They began caring for native animals in 1979, and continue to house the world's largest heritage population of endangered Tasmanian Devils. Trowunna also has a great range of marsupials, birds and reptiles on site.

An accredited tourism business of Australia, the primary goal for Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary is wildlife conservation, education and rehabilitation.
