Here are a number of tested formulas for getting rid of ants.
Many people are fans of sprinkling used coffee grounds in the garden, across the trail and around the outside of your house.
When you think about ant elimination, think logically: Remove the source (food). Wipe up spills, don't leave crumbs around, take out the garbage every day, remove dead insects, don't leave dirty dishes around.
Keep your house and especially your kitchen clean. Remove odour traces by wiping surfaces with vinegar. Ants leave a trail to their food for their mates to follow. The idea is to eradicate the trail using one of the methods mentioned here. Hunt down the nest if ants really are out of control.
If you have ant problems in your garden, grow mint or other insect repellent plants like wormwood. Many herbs give off a strong scent to repel ants and other insects in the wild, and it works just as well in your home. For other garden pests see Garlic Garden Pest Control Spray.
