Welcome to Al and Imo Handmade

Al and Imogen like good design and good people. It's as simple as that. The two made the move from Melbourne to Freshwater Creek on the Surf Coast in Victoria in September 2016 in search for a home with space to create. It's early days for the Chippy and Designer as they spend their days on the farm experimenting with recycled materials, turning old into new. We firmly believe in only making what is needed which is why you won’t find our pieces in shops, one thing we love about our customers is that they are dedicated to sustainable living just like us. Al and Imo are open to new projects and love nothing more than delivering a custom piece of furniture to its forever home.

We want to build beautiful furniture by the sea everyday and surround ourselves with good design and good people.

We dream of buying land and building our own sustainable home with processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient.

We want to grow our conscious community and share our story contributing to a slower lifestyle - one handmade piece at a time.
