Welcome to Banubanu Wilderness Retreat

Banubanu Beach Retreat is a private island tourism venture that offers an eco-escape from the hustle and bustle of the big cities and modern life.

Our land is known for its natural beaches, abundant sea life, lush tropical surrounds and rich Yolgnu culture.

We also offer a range of unique experiences and activities from cultural tours, walking trails, fishing charters and more.

Our wonderful accommodations include the Deluxe Beachfront Eco Tent which is located at the foot of the island sand dunes with safari-style tents - spacious and comfortable; the Beach House Cabin which is nestled amongst the lush surroundings of a monsoonal vine thicket - solar powered and utilises rain water to mminimise carbon footprint; and the Hideaway Cabin that is set amongst a monsoonal thicket right by the beach which has a private deck, ensuite and ceiling fan.

We allow a maximum of 20 guests to enjoy and explore the island paradise. Banubanu Beach Retreat was named Winner of the East Arnhem Land Chamber of Commerce 2013 Environmental Sustainability Business of the Year Award.
