Because many personal care products and cosmetics contain plastic microbeads that harm marine life and our environment, the 'Beat the Microbead' app was developed by The North Sea Foundation (Stichting de Noordzee) and the Plastic Soup Foundation, in an effort to make consumers aware and join the fight against plastic microbeads.

How can you help? If you find a product that is still not in our database, please send us pictures of this product by using the app. You should look for one of the following names on the ingredient list: polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), nylon or Poly(methyl) methacrylate (PMMA).
