Choose 2 Wheels Over 4

Environmentally speaking, riding a bike to work is one of the biggest favours a single person can do for the planet

If you don't have kids or elderly parents to ferry around and only yourself to take care of, a bike is perfect for you. Bikeways are everywhere and traffic laws for bicycles are improving all the time.

Riding a bike reduces the amount of traffic on roads and therefore the amount of carbon emissions. It is considerably cheaper to use  - requiring only an initial investment and the odd service. Pedal power is free!

And best of all, you can cancel your gym membership. Bike riding is a low impact exercise that you can make as intense or as simple as you want it to be. And bike riding is excellent for cardiovascular fitness and joint mobility.

Science Notes

Carbon dioxide (C02) is the highest emitted greenhouse gas through human activities such as electricity, transportation, and industry needs.

The amount of C02 emitted from cars accounts for 8% of total C02 emissions. In 2012, Australia averaged 199 g/km of carbon emissions for passenger vehicles.
