Welcome to Crafted By Bees

In 2015 our love of beekeeping blossomed. What better way to introduce ourselves to these fascinating insects than rescuing hives from nesting boxes originally intended for birds and possums?

Perhaps a touch naïve to start with such a difficult and messy job but the perfect learning experience, quickly discovering the calmer and more gentle you are with the bees the more accepting of us they are. As the number of colonies grew and keeping bees shifted from a hobby to an occupation with the immeasurable help of all our family, Crafted by Bees was born.

It was bumpy road we travelled with many speedhumps along the way from floods to drought and theft but we kept at it due to our love of nature from trees to bees. We don’t have as much time to rescue hives from possum boxes, compost bins, walls and roofs these days however we still follow the same philosophy, treat our bees kindly and they’ll reward us with their excess bounty of premium honey.

To ensure we have a honey variety to please all taste buds and to keep our bees happy and well fed we keep them in the Yarra Valley, North East Victoria and every where in between.
