Gum Blossom Yarns offers a wide range of seasonal plant - sustainably sourced dyed yarns that are good for sensitive skins and are environment friendly.

These dyed yarns are softer and have more natural yarn colours compared to synthetic hand dyed yarns.

I only use Australian-sourced merino yarns and pot-dye these yarns using natural dyes from foraged plant materials such as fresh fallen leaves, fallen bark, roots, fruit, gum nuts, berries and flowers. These natural dyes are non-toxic, non-polluting and do not cause allergic reactions.

Gum Blossom Yarns is owned by a scientist who loves to knit and crochet. For more than 16 years, I have been a part of a medical research team discovering the effects of plant extracts on infection and disease, and I do apply those same research skills to find new sustainable yarn dyes.
