How to Recycle Chip Packets

Even though Chip packets look like they are metal, they are actually plastic

Most supermarket chip packets are actually soft plastics and therefore recyclable at your local Coles or Woolworths, in the REDcycle recycle bin.

You will increasingly see more manufacturers letting you know where to put your packaging. Some still stay landfill, where options like REDcycle exist, so check online if you are suspicious. It's very easy to drop your soft plastics off when you visit the supermarket.

You can't put them in your council recycle bin and please do not put them in your landfill bin as they breakdown into microplastics and pollute land, air and waterways.
