Nature Destination Certification is the first level in Ecotourism Australia's ECO Destination Certification program, which certifies that the tourism destination has a focus on ecotourism and meets 80% of the international GSTC-recognised Green Destinations standard.

The ECO Destination Certification program assures travelers that certified destinations are backed by a strong, well-managed commitment to sustainable practices and provides high-quality nature-based tourism experiences within the region.

Destinations can choose from three (3) levels of ECO Destination Certification:

Ecotourism Destination Certification
Green Destinations Certified (Ecotourism)

ECO Destination Certification combines Ecotourism Australia’s Pre-qualifying & Additional ecotourism criteria and the internationally (GSTC) recognised and accredited Green Destinations Standard and certification program.
