Carbon neutral certification against the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS) provides a credible stamp showing that an organisation, product or service, event, precinct or building, has met all the requirement of the NCOS.
National Carbon Offset Standard
To achieve carbon neutral certification, entities must measure emissions, reduce these where possible, offset remaining emissions and publically report on their carbon neutrality.
Certification for organisations, products & services, events and precincts can be sought through the Australian Government’s Carbon Neutral Initiative
Certification for buildings can be sought through the NABERS National Administrator or the Green Building Council of Australia
Organisations that achieve certification can claim they are ‘carbon neutral certified’ for their business activities, products and services, events, precincts and building operations, and are provided a licence allowing use of the Carbon Neutral Certification Trade Mark.
