SecondBite is a national not-for-profit organisation that rescues surplus fresh food and redistributes it, free of charge, to community food programs in metropolitan and regional areas across Australia.
Food is donated by farmers, wholesalers, markets, supermarkets, caterers and events. We rescue edible, nutritious, fresh produce that was headed for landfill and redistribute it to people in need.
Formally established in 2005, SecondBite was founded by Ian and Simone Carson who decided they could no longer watch good food go to waste whilst people went hungry.
