Welcome to The Social Outfit
The Social Outfit is a fashion label with a difference. We provide employment and training opportunities in the fashion industry to people from refugee and new migrant communities. We have created a social business model where people build skills in a supportive environment, whilst interacting with broader Sydney communities.
Celebratory in design, we work together with industry and community collaborators to produce ethical products that reflect a hopeful Australian spirit. Our limited-edition collaborative prints are digitally printed locally onto silk and organic cotton, and we utilise quality end of roll fabrics and remnant materials donated by our industry supporters. This collaborative approach to design has seen us work with Bianca Spender, Carla Zampatti, Ginger & Smart, Linda Jackson, Romance Was Born and many more. Together, we’ve saved more than 4 tonnes of textile waste!
We produce on site in our Newtown shop/workroom, and are accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.

We manufacture our garments and accessories in our Newtown workroom, and we're independently accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.

We also support artisans and traditional skills globally by stocking products by other social enterprises around the world.

Recycle
Our fashion industry supporters (including Romance Was Born, Carla Zampatti and Bianca Spender, and many more) donate high quality offcuts and end of roll remnants to our workroom. Together, we've now saved over 4 tonnes of textile waste from landfill.
