Warm water

2 drops tea tree essential oil

  1. Mix together the water and tea tree oil in the plastic tub
  2. Add in your clean washable baby wipes, and seal with a lid
  3. Each time you need to use a wipe, simply take one out of the tub and use as you normally would. After use, store in a dirty cloth bag until washing.

Science Notes

Choosing washable wipes has an up front impact, but it will hugely decrease your baby’s ongoing impact on the planet. Each baby is estimated to be responsible for the use of over four thousand nappy wipes in the first year alone. These four thousand wipes are most likely to end up on landfill where they will take years to decompose.

Tea tree oil is an antifungal, antibacterial essential oil that is often used in cleaning and personal care products. The tea tree oil will help to protect the skin on your baby’s bottom which could be irritated by the use of harsh disposable baby wipes.

Use an ice cream container, or a similar container, to store your baby wipes. This way you do not need to purchase another.
