We can all exercise for the planet

As we all know, exercise is a great way to stay healthy and in shape. If only it was that easy to clean the environment. Well maybe it is

It is surprisingly easy to make cleaning the environment part of your exercise regime. On your run, on your bike ride, while you skateboard or when you are taking a break; pick up three pieces of rubbish and put them in the bin.

Alternatively, make it a fitness routine: if you see a piece of rubbish, get down and do 5 push-ups, then pick up the litter and toss it in the bin.  If you slip up and miss a piece, do 10 for the next bit you see.

Science Notes

Take 3 For the Sea is a not-for-profit organisation that began in 2009 with the focus on cleaner beaches.

Wherever we are, we should take 3. Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you are at the beach, in the park or in your local neighbourhood, and dispose of them correctly.

Remember to keep disposable bags on your possession when you take your dog for a walk.
Most Australian city councils regard dog poo as litter due to the fact that when it works its way into rivers and oceans, it can make these areas unsafe to swim and harmful to ecosystems.
