If ever there was a reason for someone to live forever, it is surely David Attenborough. This seemingly unflappable nonagenarian has joined and smashed instagram records, likely to hit 5 million followers within a week. Boy, do I hope they are all paying attention.
David Attenborough has been on our TV screens pretty much since television was invented. If you are Gen X or a Baby Boomer, you probably grew up watching his documentaries as he has spent a lifetime exploring and bringing to our lounge rooms the wild places of our planet, documenting the living world in all its variety and wonder.
In recent years, he has become hyper focused on the dark side of what he has witnessed along that journey - the damaged caused by humans in every corner, even the farthest reaches. It seems that at 94, DAvid Attenborough is working harder than ever as he now sees that saving our planet is a communications challenge.
"WE KNOW WHAT TO DO, WE JUST NEED THE WILL.THAT’S WHY WE WANT TO SHARE THIS MESSAGE ON INSTAGRAM. BECAUSE THERE IS HOPE AND TOGETHER, WE CAN INSPIRE CHANGE. "
David Attenborough is collaborating with Jonnie Hughes and Colin Butfield on the insta account. He worked with them for his upcoming Netflix film and book A Life On Our Planet, which both talks about where we are at and looks back on his 94 years traversing the planet. The film will premiere in cinemas on 28 September, 2020 and launch on Netflix globally on October 4th 2020. The book will be released on October 1, 2020.
