Bentonite Clay Remineralising Toothpaste

Bentonite Clay Remineralising Toothpaste

3 tablespoons of Bentonite Clay or French Green Clay

3 tablespoons Baking Soda

6 tablespoons Xylitol

6 tablespoons Coconut Oil

1/2 teaspoon Peppermint essential oil

Mix the ingredients except the peppermint oil together.  Once everything is well combined, add in the Peppermint oil or your choice of oil to taste. Store in a glass container with a plastic lid. Avoid metal lids or plastic containers. Take a small amount and brush your teeth as normal.

Many people choose to leave out the Xylitol and it is recommended if you don't need to sweeten the taste.

Science Notes

French Green Clay absorbs toxins and dirt in your mouth. It is alkaline and very high in trace minerals.
Baking soda is also alkaline and helps cleaning and whitening your teeth.
Coconut oil is a germ fighter and replaces glycerin you would find in a commercial toothpaste.

Related Tip

You only need the smallest amount of toothpaste on your brush - about the size of a small pea. Anything more is wasted. How you brush your teeth is the most important thing.  Brush for 2 minutes in small circular motions around your teeth. Remember to brush your tongue and gums as well.
