Eating every two to three hours will feed muscles, starve fat and boost your metabolism. There are a variety of foods that will assist in speeding up your metabolism as well. 

Broccoli – This vegetable contains calcium and vitamin C which causes the body to burn calories fast and aid in speeding up the metabolism. 

Grapefruit – Natural chemicals from grapefruit speed up metabolism, promotes weight loss and lowers insulin levels. Oranges, limes and other citrus fruits also contribute to a speedy metabolism. 

Salmon, Tuna and Herring Fish – Fish contain Omega-3 fatty acids which regulate metabolism. In addition, it reduces inflammation and balances blood sugar. 

Whole Grains – Brown rice, barley, oats, and quinoa contain complex carbohydrates and nutrients that assist in stabilizing insulin levels and speeding up metabolism. 

Chili Peppers – These spicy peppers contain a chemical compound called capsaicin that speeds up metabolism.

Lentils – These small legumes contain high amounts of iron. Sufficient levels of iron allow the body to work efficiently and speed up metabolism.

Egg Whites – In addition to containing vitamin D and protein, egg whites are rich in branched-chain amino acids that boost the metabolism.
