Organic Burial Pods

Now you can literally live forever...

.. and contribute to a positive emissions well after you are gone! In possibly the most stylish way to contribute positively when you are done, Italian designers  Raoul Bretzel and Anna Citelli are intent on turning people into trees and cemeteries into forests.

The designer's invention is to literally return a person to the earth, in foetal position, the same position they entered the world, when they die. And from there life continues to live on.

The idea is that your dead body is placed in the foetal position in a biodegradable organic burial capsule that turns your corpse into nutrients for a tree that will grow out of your remains.

Once you are buried, a sapling is planted directly above the pod and, as its roots grown down, the tree uses the nutrients that emerge from the corpse to grow and thrive.

You can choose the tree you want to be and as more people join the area, it all becomes a kind of sacred forest instead of a forest of grey stones.
