Mosquito and Bug Repellant Diffuser DIY

Mosquito and Bug Repellant Diffuser DIY

This essential oils blend for a diffuser is an excellent alternative to either spraying yourself or using Citronella candles

Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide - something we all emit. Some people emit more than others and are simply easier to find. Personal mosquito repellents work by masking your odour and making it hard for a mosquito to find you. This recipe essentially masks the entire area the diffuser covers. Importantly, you know exactly what is in it because you made it yourself.

Ingredients

  • 4 drops patchouli essential oil
  • 3 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • 3 drops clove essential oil

Instructions

Add all essential oils to a large capacity diffuser. I set it to mist intermittently, 30 minutes on, 15 minutes off.

Why DIY?

Apart from knowing exactly what is in your diffuser (ie: no fragrances and chemicals), you are avoiding open flames with candles that may also contain unlisted toxic chemicals and palm oil.
