Plastic on remote beaches inspired Sabbia Co

Each time my partner and I travelled around the globe, we have both been devastated by the amount of single-use items we find on the most remote beaches in the world.

Hi! I’m Katie, Co-Founder of Sabbia Co. and after a trip in 2018 we came home and set a goal to somehow change the game. I have a huge passion for skin, skin health and well-being, my partner Dave is a surfer dude and green-thumb. We both do our bit in our home to reduce our footprint, but wanted to do more.

And that’s where Sabbia Co was born. Sabbia translates to sand in Italian (I’m half pasta/half Aussie). It really resonated with us to create something that could serve its purpose and then essentially go back into the earth.

SABBIA CO IS AN ETHICAL BRAND WITH MINIMAL IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT , WE FOCUS ON SKIN CARE TOOLS THAT REMOVE MAKEUP, CLEANSE AND EXFOLIATE WITH JUST WATER.

Why just water? Because many cosmetics and skincare items are manufactured with over 10,500 unique chemical ingredients. Some are known carcinogens and either toxic to the reproductive system or known to disrupt the endocrine system.

Think about this... The average Australian uses 200L of water in a 10 minute shower. Imagine the chemicals you wash down the sink with that. Chemicals such as Triclosan, the the most common one found in cleansers and deodorants, which can change the biochemistry of fish, aquatic plants and amphibians.

SABBIA CO’S MISSION IS TO KEEP THE WATER GOING DOWN THE DRAIN AS GREEN AS POSSIBLE. THAT’S WHY WE’VE CREATED REUSABLE AND RECYCLABLE SKIN TOOLS THAT EFFECTIVELY CLEANSE, EXFOLIATE AND REMOVE MAKEUP WITH JUST WATER.

Sabbia Co's mission is to turn consumers beauty routines into rituals using reusable skin care tools to eliminate single-use consumerism. Did you know the average makeup wearer uses over 700 makeup removing wipes each year - that’s not including the wipes used for cleansing, hands, babies etc.

It takes over 100 years for a makeup wipe to break down in land fill. This is why we created reusable makeup pads that can be washed over 200 times and will replace roughly 1,000 single use makeup wipes from going into landfill.

And that is how our unique range -  face it face kit, cleanse kit and tone kit were born. These are the beauty and sustainable consumers go-to skin kits. Suitable for all skin types, Sabbia Co's face kits have a unique set of plant-based cleansing and skin-loving tools.

We hope you love them as much as we do.
