RecycleSmart - new home pickup alternative

RecycleSmart have solved a problem for waste items that can be recycled, but can’t go in the yellow bin

Even the most tree-hugging, nature-loving, conservationists get confused about recycling and what goes in which bin. The problem is that it is so confusing. For starters, 20% of the waste we produce does not belong in any bin yet can be recycled and 75% of our recycling ends up in landfill due to contamination and poor practice.

RecycleSmart is an alternative waste management company now offering an alternative door to door pick up service in Sydney for residential recyclables. All you need do is go on to the website, book a PickUp, pack up your recyclables and leave them outside your door.

Residents can use any shopping bag or sign up for a welcome pack delivered to your home for free. For only $2 per bag, residents across Eastern Suburbs and Sutherland Shire can now ensure their soft plastics, e-waste, clothes and problem waste (e.g. batteries, light bulbs etc) are going to the right places.

Instead of having to take your old clothes to Vinnies, your e-waste to a recycling facility and your soft plastics to a recycling bin in Coles or Woolies, you can put all of them in one bag and have it collected from your home.

This service is a convenient, easy and cost-effective way for everyone to play their part in protecting our environment and local communities - and get recyclables into the hands of someone who can deal with them usefully.

RecycleSmart App also boasts a fantastic searchable database that tells you how and where to dispose of hundreds of household items. This is ideal for people who have old phones, a mountain of plastic shopping bags, even paint or batteries lying around at home because people don't know how to dispose of them correctly.

RecycleSmart tracks how much waste we collect and divert from landfill so everyone can see the impact of their individual action. In the past six months, RecycleSmart has been responsible for diverting more than 4.4 tonnes of waste from landfill in the last 6 months. 90% of these materials consist of soft plastics and clothes, a notable statistic as users find the PickUp service the most convenient and trustworthy way to 100% recycle these items.
