There’s plenty of things around the home that would normally be thrown in the trash, but can make rather potent cleaning ingredients. Discarded coffee grounds mixed with warm water can be used to soak up grease from pans. If you have stale bread left over, use it to tackle stained walls. Wipe the stain with a cloth, remove the crusts and ball up the bread, then rub gently on the stained area with the bread. This technique can also work on more abstract surfaces, like an old oil painting. Lastly, if you have a bit of beer left from the night before, don’t tip it down the sink! Use it to revive old wooden furniture or clean your silver.Helpling offer local cleaners in Australia and around the world and we encourage our cleaners to clean green - for their own health and the health of the planet. If we all make small changes to our home cleaning routine, the cumulative impact on the environment can be significant. And if you employ your own home cleaner, you can request that they only use eco-friendly products. Or if you provide the cleaning products yourself, you can ensure they only use products that aren’t harmful to the environment.
