Thank you for the Music 2018

Thank you for the Music 2018

It is truly humbling and heartening to be in the fortunate position to meet, know & learn from so many incredible eco hearted people

Businesses and consumers working so hard in their own corners of the world - making, baking, inventing, exploring, demonstrating, re-inventing, collecting, salvaging and wondering what if. Doing something for a better eco world.

ekko.world are a small team, working across the full range of eco business and social enterprise disciplines. We work in close orbit with others rather than building a big team because we believe collaboration is integral to keeping us focused outwards toward real tangible solutions.

How did we go in 2018?

We have invested our time and relationships in 2018 in three key things.

  1. We built and tested our collaborative approach to real world partnerships
  2. We asked why consumers don't seem to want to behave better (eco)
  3. We tested our value and relevance as a useful tool for eco businesses
  4. We developed a business model that is consistent with our partnerships belief, to deliver real value to both consumers and eco businesses everywhere.

We took our business model to the global AREDAY Conference in Aspen in June and spoke alongside an incredible array of some of the most outstanding scientists, activists, business people & thinkers on planet - from every field of planetory endeavour you can imagine.

Globally renowned Oceanographers, Climate Scientists, Black Rights, Universities, Filmmakers, Peace Foundations, Energy innovators, Investment, Women's Rights, Blockchain and Crypto-currency. People like Sylvia Earle, Bill Tai, Julie Wriggley, James Balog, Heidi Kuhn, James D. Calaway  and others too many to mention.

We have watched and supported the emergence and growth of some incredible products like Econyl, Pinatex Pineapple Leather, Yume Commercial Food RescueFarmwall, The Very Good Bra, The Social Outfit and Luxey Cup

And bought you all kinds of new age recyclers - hair, food, bicycles, shoes, skates and sails. And shown you how to make a hat out of straws and cling wrap.

OUR MOST IMPORTANT ACHIEVEMENT IN 2019 IS THE ORGANIC GROWTH AND SUPPORT FROM THE ECO TRADER COMMUNITY. THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL OF EKKO.WORLD THIS YEAR WAS TO PROVE THAT ECO TRADERS OF ALL SIZES (MICRO, SMALL AND BIG BUSINESS) CARED ENOUGH TO COLLABORATE & WOULD HAPPILY CO-EXIST IN A CREDIBLE ECO NEIGHBOURHOOD - EVEN WITH COMPETITORS. THE SUPPORT HAS BEEN OVERWHELMING AND NOW FORMS THE BASIS OF THE LAUNCH IN 2019 OF THE EKKO-SCORE.

What's the score for 2019?

We believe that 2019 is going to be the year that climate change gains massive traction as the weather starts to really create havoc across the globe. We have a huge 2019 ahead - with plans to make eco easy everywhere. The big technical focus of 2019 is the development of ekko-score. What is it? ekko-score is a AI-derived eco product score, facilitating the least-worst eco decisioning to help consumers make better eco decisions and vendors to improve the 'eco-ness' of their own products. It is a true iceberg as it's end presentation is super simple, but it's underbelly is complex and involves pretty much all the data available. It will score 3 main factors:

  1. How & what a product is made of
  2. What a product does / how it works
  3. How product disposes

We commence trials in January and commence work on its automation with an Australian University in February. Our goal is to have it ready to present the different stages at sustainable development conferences around the world in June and August - in USA and India.

Many ekko.world traders are involved in trials of the early prototype - and if you have not been and are interested, please contact us

In 2019, we are also launching the digital channel, Qonsider with media personality and long time eco advocate, Sofie Formica. Stay tuned :) for more to come very soon.
