The Social Outfit is Crowd Funding on Chuffed

After 4 years at their current home, The Social Outfit landlord is redeveloping & the team is on the street.

Can you help them find a new home? The Social Outfit have been empowering refugee communities by offering local employment and training to people from refugee and new migrant communities within clothing production, retail, design and marketing since 2014.

The Social Outfit has been the first job of many people in Australia and has become an integral part of the Newtown community in Sydney. They are currently raising funds with Chuffed.org; the platform for change, to re-locate their 353 King Street store front and manufacturing space.

The Social Outfit is a registered charity, and they direct all income generated from fashion sales back into the organisation. So far on Chuffed, they have raised over $12,000 and they have a target of $15,000 by September 12th, 2018. (Every dollar they raise up to $20,000 also have the promise of a match from Merchant Pricing Hub and Payments Consulting Network, Robertson Foundation, Paul Bide, and also from their Chairman, David Hardie.)

“The requirement to move from our current home of four years was out of our control, but while moving is disruptive and expensive, it will provide a larger space and greater opportunities for continued education and training”, said founder Jackie Ruddock. “All money raised will go straight back into supporting women and young people.
