World's First Recycled Plastic & Coffee Grinds Shoe. On Kickstarter

2 years in the development, Rens crowdfund campaign has already raised $358,000 against a $27,000 goal with 27 days to go

It probably not surprising that these shoes kicked their Kickstarter target within 24 hours as so many people have been waiting to see what their coffee grinds look like as a pair of sneakers since the idea was first conceived in 2017. The Rens team have developed and ditched a number of iterations of the shoe before finally perfecting an uber cool shoe made of 6 plastic bottles and 300 grams of used coffee grounds.

We don't normally promote products that have to be shipped across the world, but this invention is not just a world first in reusing waste, it also comes with pretty much any thing you could ever want in a shoe. The shoes are light, waterproof, breathable, odour free, washable, vegan and come with a 1 year warranty. And they look uber cool.

If you want a pair of Rens, they come in 8 colours from Finland, but global shipping is free with the campaign. (Don't forget to offset your shoe's travel miles!)

Head to Kickstarter for more info and the campaign, where prices are 40% reduced until the campaign ends.
