RawAssembly's sustainable textiles event is on!

RawAssembly kicks off on Monday, 28th October on the edge of the River at Deakin Edge, Federation Square

Featuring local Aussie and off shore fashion designers, spokes people and fabric makers, the event showcases sustainable textile solutions and business practices directly to the fashion & textile industry in a way that reflects current trade events and promotes creativity.

RawAssembly are dedicated to transforming the way in which raw materials are sourced, processed and consumed by supporting the development of responsible-sourcing opportunities in only sustainable textiles and sustainable textile business practices and by educating and shaping the ethical values and attitudes of the visitors and exhibitors through events.

A few notable Australian businesses will be speaking at the event along with internationals, including Harold Weghorst from Lenzing Group, creators of sustainable fibres for over 80 years.

Courtney Holm, Founder of a.bch will talk about the challenges of implementing responsible sourcing into main-stream garment production. She has designed and created a look from 100% biologically circular and plant based materials, primarily in their silk-like Tencel Luxe fabric which is a lyocell filament fibre created by Lenzing and woven by Mozartex (both of whom are showcasing fibres & materials at Raw Assembly).

Kit Willow and KITX has been at the forefront of sustainable, positive impact fashion, not just in Australia but all over the world. KITX consciously sources and produces luxury women's wear with an eye to ensuring supply chains are both ethical, and environmentally sound.

At the event, you can join the conversions & then go on to explore some of the latest innovations in sustainable materials and production solutions. Meet with exhibitors in person, including Lenzing, Sudwolle, Diyang, AMBT, MTK, Glenwood Merino & Full Circle Fibres as well as Australian Exhibitors: Full Circle Fibres, ABMT Australia, The Better Packaging Co., Forever Soles. You can learn all about their sustainable and responsible supply chains from on-shore fibre & garment production to their overseas networks.
