For lovers of ethically made designer goods & food, the Big Design Market 2019 is on again in Sydney this weekend. The market has moved to The Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve this year and has around 200 stallholders of beautiful gifts, personal items, food and wine will be there. This year the focus is on innovation in sustainable living and many of the products celebrate better dining and living like Cutlery Carriage and Rolla Bottle.Reusable container company Returnr and coffee sellers, St. Ali have teamed up with The Big Design Market to deliver zero-waste takeaway coffee to visitors at the event and it is estimated that over 4,000 disposable coffee cups will be diverted from landfill by the initiative. (And my favourite part... Returnr & St. Ali will be selling reusable coffee cup lids during the Big Design Market for $5.85 and encouraging users to enjoy their coffee at the market without a lid. So hate coffee cup lids!)
You can find all the info on getting there, open times and what's on the Visitor information page on The Big Design Market. You will find over 200 stallholders, gourmet food, craft beer and wine, designer showbags and free kids activities. Fri 20 Sept 10am–9pm • Sat 21 Sept 10am–6pm • Sun 22 Sept 10am–5pm • $5 entry. Make sure you buy a ticket for someone who thinks being sustainable is boring, buttoned up and bland.
